Social Work Month 2013 Series: Why I Love Being a Social Worker E-mail
Written by Tawnie Putignano, MSW, ASW

My clients look at me, and I know they know that "help is coming." Like much needed reinforcements at the end of a losing battle, being a social worker means giving a voice to those whose voices have been muffled, empowering people to believe in themselves again, and defending those who cannot defend themselves. Friend, advocate, encourager, defender...I have the privilege of being assigned these roles for our society. I am a proud social worker.
