Join us for a transformative workshop with Eve Brownstone, LCPC, CP, for “Healing the Heart: Recovering from Collective Trauma,” a two-hour expressive arts and psychodrama workshop 2 to 4 p.m. ET on June 28 to process collective grief and reconnect to your inner calm. Eve, a psychotherapist and psychodramatist based in Chicago, Ill., brings more than 30 years of experience helping individuals heal through creativity, movement and guided reflection.
By the end of this workshop, participants will be able to:
• Define the concept of collective trauma and articulate its emotional, psychological, and somatic effects on individuals and communities.
• Apply expressive arts techniques (e.g., Heart Mapping) to externalize and reflect on personal and collective emotional experiences.
• Demonstrate the use of somatic grounding strategies such as breathwork, shaking, and vocalization (humming) to self-regulate and reduce stress.
• Utilize psychodramatic methods, including Role Creation and Role Reversal, to explore internal resilience and develop new perspectives on healing.
• Engage in reflective dialogue within small groups, using structured prompts to support empathy, insight, and shared processing of trauma.
• Identify and articulate at least one personal takeaway or intention for continued emotional healing and resilience-building post-workshop.
No prior experience in psychodrama and the expressive arts required—just a willingness to show up and explore. The workshop is sponsored by the American Society of Group Psychotherapy and Psychodrama, a non-profit membership organization. Tuition is $80 for professionals and $50 for students and retirees.
