We extract the data: clean it, code it, map it.
We distill the ache of lived experience:
cycles of trauma, food deserts carved by white flight, violence of poverty,
into sterile rows of p-values and
tenure dossiers.
But if we don’t raise hell with the stories we gather,
if we don’t turn findings into funding and papers into protests–
if we don’t bend policy toward those who trusted us with their truths–
then all we’ve done is make injustice
peer-reviewed.
