The Illinois Department of Children and Family Services, with Prevent Child Abuse Illinois, held the 6th annual "Kids in Care, and Those Who Care Art Exhibit" at the James R. Thompson Center in Chicago, Illinois. The event started on Monday, April 23, 2018, and ended on Friday, April 27, 2018. This was the final week of this year's Child Abuse Prevention Awareness Month.

The artwork is created by children in care and by artists who work with children. Some of the contributing artists were from Lawrence Hall, BUILD, the Elmhurst Academy of Early Learning, Children’s Home & Aid, Little Miss Latina, the Lake County States Attorney’s Office domestic violence prevention poster contest, Suncrest Studios, Madisen Blakeslee of Barrington High School, and artist Dionne Victoria. Dionne Victoria did live art with children who visited the exhibit.
