#GivingTuesdayMilitary Campaign

by

Social work student Jessica Manfre and other military spouses are organizing the Giving Tuesday Military campaign. Their goal is to reach 1 million acts of kindness on December 3, 2019.

Jessica, Samantha Gomolka, and Maria Reed met in Washington, DC, in May 2019, when all three received Armed Forces Insurance (AFI) Military Spouse of the Year awards for their respective branches at a dinner honoring them for their dedication to serving military families. They decided to band together to unite all branches of service for Giving Tuesday.

According to the Giving Tuesday Military website, the mission of the project is "to showcase 1 MILLION acts of kindness on Giving Tuesday, December 3, 2019, by United States military members, their families, veterans, Gold Star and Surviving families, and patriotic supporters."

To participate, anyone can perform a random act of kindness on December 3 and share it on social media using the hashtag #GivingTuesdayMilitary.

"I truly believe in the power of kindness and that it can save lives," Jessica says.

Find out more about how to participate at the Giving Tuesday Military website, where you can also find a list of suggested acts of kindness and free printable graphics.
