 Just what is a Social Worker…..

             S - Someone with super powers that is socially concerned, who is

            O -Organizing individuals and

            C -Caring that all people have a voice to

            I – Initiate change and

            A – Address injustices to

            L - Leverage resources that are

            W – Working for the betterment of societies and

            O – Offering assistance by

            R – Reaching out and across to

            K – Knock down prejudice and

            E – Empower individuals with self-determination and

            R- Rejoicing for yet another day, a moment to be part of the change process, that in some small way is making the world a better place.

            That is a Social Worker!

      And I am so grateful to be able to call myself – SOCIAL WORKER!

Dr. Denice Goodrich Liley is an associate professor at Boise State University School of Social Work. Dr. Liley teaches and publishes in the areas of social work practice, field education, end-of-life, and aging.  Dr. Liley is delighted to be known as a social worker for nearly 39 years.
