James Comrey
By James A. Comrey, Jr.
Women, men, transgender, and anyone on the gender spectrum
Hindus, Buddhists, Christians, Atheists, Jewish, Muslims, or any other
identity
Older individuals who teach us wisdom to younger individuals who test
the boundaries
Individuals who like the same sex, opposite sex, both sexes, all sexes, or
none
No high school diploma to a PhD
Small, thin individuals who dream of being a model, or the one
individual who reclaims the word fat
People who are living in poverty, at-risk, or who are living large
Individuals with ability or disability
Representatives who are Democratic, Republican, Liberal,
Conservative, Independent, or anywhere in between
Every race whether you identify as one, hate the label, or live like
yourself
Social outcasts to social butterflies
Males, females, intersex, or anyone who wants no label
Everyone inspires me as a social worker because we live in a world
where each and every one of us influences or inspires us. The
people who are against social justice inspire me to fight for
change. The people who share the same beliefs I do inspire me to
keep on going. Good, bad, or anywhere in between; everyone
inspires me.
James A. Comrey, Jr., is a fifth-year social work major at Shippensburg University. He wants to work with the LGBTQ population when he graduates.
