A Thousand Times

I wrote this song a few years ago because I needed to explore some feelings I had about my adoption. I had not yet met my birth mother and often wondered about her. Like me, adoptees often have a wide variety of feelings about their families and places of birth, their identity, and how to make sense of their life story.
Amy Sugeno, LCSW, is a social worker in Marble Falls, Texas, where she recently started a private practice specializing in healing from trauma, including working with adoptive parents, as well as adults struggling with secondary trauma and childhood abuse and neglect.
