We dont talk about whiteness enough

I encountered the lived reality of my whiteness 30 years ago, having been asked to present on being white at a race training seminar. Up to that point, I was neutral, no colour, others were a colour. Probably one of the more powerful experiences of my 40 years in social work.

This is a welcome entry, especially for Social Work Month. Thank you, Elspeth. I have followed the work of William Frey, Columbia University, for a few years now. He's created a "Space for Uprooting Whiteness" at the school - here is a link to a 2021 paper about it: https://journals.iupui.edu/index.php/advancesinsocialwork/article/view/24140
